the other day i visited my mother and as i was leaving, an elder and 2 young publishers came to see how my mother was doing.
after exchanging brief pleasantries, i left.
the elder stayed over an hour and my mother, growing more exhausted, asked if the elder could say a prayer before he left.
Mini, "To see how your mother was doing." What was she doing? Was she missing meetings? Are her field service hours lower. What was the real reason for his visit? Did the body of Elders authorize this "SHEPHERDING CALL?"
Could you have stayed a little longer or would that put you in the line of fire?
I don't like "Blabber Mouths" and that is what this Elder sounds like to me. All him, me me me me me me.

it is too easy to get sucked in to the wrong argument at the wrong time.. asking the wrong question leads to the wrong answer.
a wrong answer does nobody any real good.. i once had a heated discussion with an old friend who is still an active jehovah's witness.. he came back at me with this:.

Perry. Respectfully, you base all of your discussions on your belief that the Bible is the inspired word of God. That has already been shown that the Bible is not the inspired word of God.
You quote scripture to prove your belief system is true, when the very scripture you quote is not the original writings and not preserved by God. Misquoting, mistakes, changes, recreating texts,corrupting texts, etc..etc.. by scholars and Bible translators who cannot possibly represent the meaning of the original text is what you rely on.
Remember you once relied on the new world translation. Do you still rely on that Bible text printed by the watchtower society as the true interpretation of what God has originally said to write down?

At one time you could have more than one wife and it was not immoral. Now for some it still is not immoral, for others it is immoral to have more than one wife. Who or what determinded what is moral or immoral in this matter and why?

in all, i enjoy numbers and math.
as such i can see problems from a mathmatical basis where they exist.. this thought came to me last night.. 1 in the beginning god created the heavens and the earth.. 2 now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the spirit of god was hovering over the waters.. 3 and god said, "let there be light," and there was light.
4 god saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.
Causation and effect. As we go back back back, we come to a point where causation defeats itself. Because we come to zero cause, no cause, existence of a no cause being...God? I can't wrap my puny mind around that ,can you?

we all know that the wts doesn't let a kool aid issue of the wt get printed without at least one reference to the fds and matthew 24:45-47 but i'd never seen it quantified so i decided to do a simple search of "matthew 24:45-47" on the cd rom.
here are some results from recent years and issues (issue - # of occurances):.
2009: 12/15-0, 11/15-4, 10/15-6, 9/15-4, 8/15-1, 7/15-3, 6/15-8, 5/15-7, 4/15-3, 3/15-3, 2/15-9, 1/15-3, for a total of 51 references in 12 issues.

having never really met or been friends with a jewish person, i must say that i was quite amused by his amusement of my little cult experience.
he is serving on a board to help fundraise for his synagogue, and i met many people there, including a lesbian sitting on the board.. gay people in a religion?

I use the scriptures for the believers, because I respect their right to believe that the Bible is God's Word.
I don't believe this. I will never disrespect what believers and those who claim that they have had and have proof and personal experiences to support their belief systems.
